We’ve finished the dirty work and are finally starting to move in.

On Labor Day weekend (Becky’s birthday), we spent a few days driving ourselves to and from the north end of Vancouver Island where we embarked on a 3-day kayak trip in Johnstone Strait. The sun was shining, the waters were still, and the whales… well, the whales were killer.

In mid-September, we went down to Austin for the Flash Forward conference. After a few days of code, pixels, and podiums we took a day to check out the Austin City Limits music festival. Betsy and JD were our hotel buddies along the way. Getting to chat with Thomas and his dutch friends was a highlight as well.

October has brought a change of scenery as JD and I decided to share a small office space here in SE Portland. Our renovation work is of course being documented.

In portland, we have this thing called the ‘drive to the coast’. As these things go, it’s not too long. Surfing makes it worthwhile. That’s right. I’m a surfer. I could stand to do a bit more standing, but I did in fact ride the waves this weekend. Jolayne took this nice picture of me from the back seat of the subaru. Do I really have her wrists?
We had a little gathering here friday night. Pictures are all over flickr.

Jennifer’s baby girl has arrived. 5 pounds, 10 ounces. Jordyn Elizabeth was born at 6:59 pm on March 6, 2006. Jennifer had a C-section birth and both Mom and Jordyn are doing very well. They will be in St. John’s Mercy until the end of the week.
More pictures on grandma’s aol photo album.
I grew up near the new madrid fault, but I missed the big on of 87. this was the first time I felt an earthquake. I was at work, 6pm on saturday, and I thought a truck hit the base of the building.
yes, I’m working a bit too much right now.
Also, Becky has her own flickr account now…

Becky and I just finished a website for our friend David Waingarten. His film, Addisons Wall, is now in two film festivals, and it was time for an online presence. Since he was here in Portland over the holidays, we all worked together to finish the site quickly. It was a nice short project, and it’s always fun when you can take a break from your work to rock out with your co-workers.
